Profession: As the San Diego Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society Office Director for the past five years, Barry is responsible for helping to meet the emergent needs of active duty and retired Sailors, Marines, and their families in the San Diego area, while also providing the basic financial education and resource connections to ensure long-term financial self- sufficiency.

Prior to his current position, Barry served on active duty as a Naval Aviator for twenty-five years, retiring as a Captain. During his time in the Navy, he commanded the Navy’s largest operational helicopter squadron, supported all manned and unmanned aviation operations conducted by ships within Naval Surface Forces Pacific, and made multiple deployments to the Western Pacific, Indian Ocean, Arabian Gulf, North Atlantic, Mediterranean, and Caribbean.

He resides in Rancho San Diego with his wife, Debbie, and their three daughters.
